Els cilindres de colors conviden els infants a comparar diferents dimensions i a comprendre com s’interrelacionen mentre desenvolupen la coordinació de moviments i la motricitat fina. Sovint, aquesta proposta es converteix en un repte personal: ordenar, classificar, construir i, sobretot, gaudir del procés amb calma i intenció.
Per a nosaltres, és una manera preciosa de veure com es concentren, com prenen decisions i com es meravellen davant dels descobriments que van fent a cada pas.
Un material que afavoreix el refinament dels sentits i permet als infants explorar, pensar i créixer des de l’experiència.

La setmana passada, els infants d’EI4 van rebre la visita del servei de salut bucodental. Amb molta cura i respecte, els professionals van fer una petita revisió per valorar l’estat de la seva boca i, tot seguit, ens van explicar com tenir una bona higiene bucal.

Aquest tipus d’activitat ens permet detectar possibles alteracions de manera precoç i reforçar la importància de cuidar la boca des de ben petits.

Una acció preventiva que contribueix a preservar la seva salut i al seu somriure.

During the school year, we have introduced one-to-one story telling. The children have really enjoyed this moment just for them, which allows each child to discover the chosen story at their own pace. One-to-one story time not only gives the child a moment to really absorb a story but also enables us to develop attention, memory, listening and language skills. Some of our English library books are interactive and give a ´hands on ‘approach´ to the child’s own learning, which they really love! Books are chosen by level and vary greatly in topic and design. We have found that this technique, as well as the group story time, is effective in advancing spoken language too.

Ahir vam viure una jornada molt especial a l’escola. Les famílies ens van acompanyar per celebrar plegats la Diada de Sant Jordi, una de les festes més boniques del nostre calendari.

Un agraïment molt especial a totes les famílies que vau preparar amb tanta il·lusió les activitats per als infants: el conte musicalitzat i el preciós planter en forma de drac van ser moments plens de creativitat i emoció.

Va ser un dia ple de vida, on la cultura, l’amor per la lectura i el caliu de la comunitat educativa van omplir cada racó.

Bagpipes, cimbalon, Spanish guitar, Irish flute, crate, zither, ukelele, guitarron, vihuela are some of the traditional instrument sounds we have learnt in our circle time. We made an interesting game of sound and image match where the children heard the sound and guessed which instrument it came from. The bagpipes and the Spanish guitar were some of our favourites.

In the Children´s House we have been practising our vobaulary with the famous ´eye spy´ game, this game is always a favourite amongst the children as it can be adapted to suit all.
It´s great for children to get thinking about the sounds that make up words – particularly the sounds that start different words.
It allows children to exercise their imagination as they look for objects and words to use in playing the game.
It gets them to practise saying many different words for objects they know.
It gets them practising taking turns. This is great for conversation practise and social skills.
It is also free and fun to do anywhere!

Aquest cap de setmana es va celebrar la fira de Sant Andreu a Torroella de Montgrí, i es vol agrair sincerament a totes les famílies que van venir a visitar l’espai. Va ser un plaer compartir aquest moment amb tots els assistents, que van fer que l’experiència fos encara més agradable i memorable.

Dimecres 30 d’octubre es va organitzar una jornada especial durant les festes de Sant Narcís per celebrar la Castanyada. Durant el matí es va explorar la tradició catalana durant aquesta època de l’any en preparar deliciosos panellets de codony, ametlles, pinyons i coco. Llavors, a la tarda es va encendre un foc per coure castanyes i creant així un ambient càlid i festiu que no feia més que convidar a compartir. El moment més esperat del dia no va arribar fins al berenar, quan per fi els participants d’aquesta diada van poder degustar els panellets i les castanyes que havien preparat anteriorment, envoltats d’una atmosfera plena de somriures i alegria. I és amb aquests tipus d’activitats que s’aconsegueix que ens apropem una mica més a les tradicions i els sabors de la tardor catalana.

Matching games in English are much more than just a fun activity! For preschoolers, these games play a key role in developing essential cognitive skills such as visual memory, short-term memory, and pattern recognition. They also enhance focus and concentration. Additionally, the structure of memory matching games helps build confidence as children apply their own knowledge rather than relying on adult assistance. These games are always a favorite during English sessions!

For older students, activities have focused on finding the initial sounds of autumn-themed vocabulary. Such tasks are great for helping children in strengthening phonemic awareness and improving sound discrimination. Understanding that words are made up of individual sounds is an essential step toward fluent reading and writing.

This week in the community class we have said ´goodbye´ to spring and welcomed in summer, revising the vocabulary we have learned through games and songs.
We´ve looked at the images related to spring, the changes in the weather and how it is different to summer. Bye bye spring, hello summer!
