Life of Penguins

During December we have been looking at the life of penguins, they are such incredible animals and we really have learned so much! We have discovered that there are many types of penguin, they come in different sizes and colours. The penguin´s egg is very large, we measured it! And we guessed that it´s very heavy too. We found out about how the egg is looked after and the way the baby penguin gradually loses it´s baby feathers and when it has all adult feathers it can hunt with the adults. Do you know that penguins are excellent swimmers? Unlike other birds, whose bones are hollow, the penguin has solid bones, just like us, so that they can dive deep down under the water to hunt for fish. Truly interesting animals!
